How Does DGX Asphalt Mixing Plant Transform on the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway?

Jun 11, 2025

Under the dual challenges of increasingly strict environmental protection policies and diversified infrastructure construction requirements, the shortcomings of conventional asphalt plants, such as fixed functions and difficult upgrades are gradually exposed. D&G Machinery’s DGX series asphalt mixing plants, with the cross-function design of modular transformation, have made breakthroughs in the industry, realizing the easy conversion between different applications of the conventional and recycling plant. The innovative equipment is known as the “Transformer” in the field of construction machinery.

Traditional asphalt mixing plants are like “reinforced concrete castles”- once built, they are difficult to adjust. However, the DGX series completely subverts this model through its modular architecture. Independent function modules - core components (such as the drying system, mixer, and dust collector) are encapsulated as separate modules, like "LEGO bricks." They can be quickly connected through standardized interfaces. Simply by expanding and reassembling these modules, the overall transformation can be achieved. There is no cutting or welding on site, and no damage to the original equipment. In the case of Hunan Expressway, only the basic original production modules were configured initially, as there was no need to produce recycled materials. Later, due to project requirements, a recycled material configuration was added.

Customer Profile

Hunan Expressway Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hunan Expressway) was established in 2001, whose business scope includes general contracting for highway engineering construction at various levels, highway engineering projects, municipal engineering projects, and highway maintenance services. The DGXR5000D asphalt mixing plant purchased by Hunan Expressway was the first to be installed and put into operation in March 2024 for the Yiyang - Changde Expressway Expansion Project in Hunan Province. It injected strong impetus into the high-quality construction of the pavement engineering of the Yiyang - Changde Expressway, producing a total of approximately 230,000 tons of materials.

Considering the requirements of the project to expand the Beijing - Hong Kong - Macao Expressway from four lanes to eight lanes, the customer decided to use recycling equipment to produce high-quality recycled materials. They not only relocated the equipment but also carried out a comprehensive upgrade and retrofit, converting it into an integrated recycling plant.

Project Overview

The main line of the reconstruction and expansion project for the Leiyang -Yizhang (Hunan-Guangdong border) section of the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway stretches over 144 kilometers long. The project features significant strategic position in regional development, responsibility for pioneering demonstration, challenges in safety management, and a tight construction schedule. The reconstruction and expansion the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway from Leiyang to Yizhang, known as the "South Gateway" of Hunan's expressways, will further enhance the provincial connectivity between the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River to the north, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to the south, promoting integrated development.

Equipment Requirements

The reconstruction and expansion project poses challenges in safety management, with strict grading standards and highly demanding paving techniques. Hunan Expressway has high requirements on equipment to ensure smooth operation. To meet the project's needs, the equipment must be capable of producing recycled materials to achieve superior quality in the paving mixture.

The client's first project, the expansion of the Yiyang-Changde Expressway in Hunan, was successfully completed. This achievement was attributed to the standardized construction in the early stages, precise commissioning of the production equipment, and strict control of the production process by technicians. As a result, the asphalt mixtures were of reliable quality and excellent performance, with all indicators meeting the requirements. Currently, the equipment is undergoing upgrading and installation, which will participate in the second project—the reconstruction and expansion of the Leiyang-Yizhang section of the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway.

Equipment Highlights

D&G Machinery's monoblock recycling asphalt mixing plant stands out in the industry with its core advantages of high efficiency, eco-friendliness, and intelligence. The highlights of the equipment are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
  1. 1. Vertical addition of materials to prevent sticking.
  2. 2. A "self-cleaning" RAP dryer drum with strong drying capacity and no adhesion.
  3. 3. A 5.5t mixer to ensure production capacity.
  4. 4. Multiple encapsulation options and environmental protection solutions available.
  5. 5. Modular design, assembly like a transformer.
  6. 6. A 1,600㎡large-area bag filter to ensure effective dust collection even under high production capacity.

The D&G Machinery DGX Transformer Asphalt Mixing Plant has redefined the efficiency benchmark for modern road construction with its core philosophy of " Intelligence Creates Infinite Possibilities." Its modular design enables flexible reconfiguration like a Transformer, which can be transformed into a compact equipment for precise construction of urban and rural roads, or expanded to meet the rigorous demands of large-scale road projects. This plant consistently pushes boundaries with intelligent manufacturing. Choosing DGX is choosing the future!
